Bryant announces departure from Gamecocks with eye on NBA Draft

Keyshawn Bryant’s career at South Carolina is over. The 6-5 forward from Winter Haven, FL announced on Twitter Friday afternoon that he is putting his name into the NBA Draft and will sign with an agent. Bryant tested his NBA Draft status after last season but did not sign with an agent and returned to school.

Bryant played in 98 games over four seasons in Columbia. He leaves with career averages of 9.9 points and 4.3 rebounds per game. he shot 45% from the floor, 22% from three, and 50% from the foul line. This season Bryant averaged just under 9 points and 4 rebounds per game.

Bryant becomes the sixth scholarship player with eligibility to leave the Gamecocks since the firing of Frank Martin and the hiring of Lamont Paris. Two other veteran players exhausted their eligibility.
