SOUTH CAROLINA OFFENSE
Carolina’s first offensive drive went five plays for 70 yards and ended with a Xavier Legette 29-yard touchdown reception from Spencer Rattler. It was Legette’s first touchdown reception of the season and the third of his career. Dakereon Joyner threw his first pass of the season, a 68-yard touchdown to Antwane Wells Jr. with 8:36 left in the first quarter. It was Wells’ third touchdown reception of the season and Joyner’s second career touchdown pass. Wells had another touchdown reception with 51 seconds left in the third quarter on a 17-yard pass from Spencer Rattler.
Christian Beal-Smith rumbled for a 52-yard touchdown with 9:13 left in the first half. It was Beal-Smith’s season-long for yards on a play and was his fifth rushing touchdown of the year. Josh Vann ended the first half with a 19-yard touchdown reception from Spencer Rattler. It was Vann’s first touchdown reception of the season. Vann’s touchdown reception was the 100th reception of his Carolina career. Vann is one of 20 Gamecocks to have 100 receptions in his career. Carolina had a season-high 31 points in the first half. Spencer Rattler was 16-for-23 for 186 yards and three touchdowns. The three touchdowns in a game were a season-high. Antwane Wells Jr. had four receptions for 110 yards and a touchdown in the win. Wells recorded his and the Gamecocks’ second 100-yard receiving contest of the season. Carolina had 492 yards of total offense (208 rushings, 284 passing).

It led to a Mitch Jeter 31-yard field goal. Nick Emmanwori led the Gamecocks with nine tackles, and six solos. DQ Smith and Jordan Burch each had sacks in the win. B.J. Gibson had seven solo tackles in his first start as a Gamecock. O’Donnell Fortune had a forced fumble in the fourth quarter to give Carolina the ball with 4:10 left. Fortune also had an interception with 1:04 remaining in the game.
