The thing that gets me in all this - We have all these remote controlled, unmanned robotic subs with HD cameras and everything esle. This little mini-sub has 1 tiny window and a couple of monitors for outside cameras. What is gained by sending people down there? Other then just bragging rights...
The debris is consistent with a “catastrophic implosion” of the vessel, Rear Adm. John Mauger, the First Coast Guard District commander announced.
Mauger made the remarks after he was asked about the prospects of recovering crew members of the Titan.

The pressure under 13000 ft of water is like 400x that of atmospheric pressure. Over 5000 psi. If it collapsed, it would have been instant. Does not explain the banging sound. Of course, that could be something completely unrelated.
Agreed - Putin will not pull out on his own, as that means admitting defeat, and will lead to him being overthrown for starting this whole mess. He will ride this out until the bitter end, with the hope that the west support for Ukraine will wane over time.
This seems to be turning into a WW I...
I think so. It's most likely at the bottom of the ocean somewhere. And will be even harder to find then the Titanic (And that took like 10 years to find.) I don't think there is much hope to rescue these people alive. Miracles do happen, but chances are extremely thin at this point.
This will...
That's for divers. Being in an enclosed sub that is more or less atmospheric pressure, that should not be an issue. Unless the hull is breached, but in that case they are toast anyway.
I agree.
Sounds like banging is every 30 minutes. Like they are trying to signal from inside the sub. Still a long shot to find them. And if they did, it sounds like there is no equipment available to go to the depths to retrieve it.

Also reports that Russian troops are blocking residents from evacuating flooded areas under their control.
Doesn’t really make sense for Ukraine to blow up their infrastructure. And as this supplies water to crimea, does Russia reazile the jig is up, and are doing a scrotched earth retreat?
Who knows? So many questions.

Dam breach threatens not only towns downstream, but it supplies fresh water to Crimea, as well as a nuclear power plant.
Both sides blame the other.
