10 years after devastating injury at South Carolina, Marcus Lattimore rediscovers his place in the game

He will establish his own identity and when/if he returns to SC, he will be the better for it.

I lived in California for 4 years, but eventually came back home when the time was right.

It's called growing up and everyone has to do it.

Read that earlier today. Great read but it’s a little all over the place. He’s obviously still recovering from those injuries emotionally and life after being a football star for a large part of his life. Good insight to what many of us will never experience and the toll it takes on someone managing the expectations of others and the pressure from that. Wish him nothing but happiness with or without USC or football. Good on him for still being involved at that level.

He's got a good head on his shoulders. It's hard to imagine the toll being famous like that would have on someone. He's definitely a driven individual that will succeed.

No matter what you end up doing for a living, most people have to figure their lives out in their late 20s and early 30s.

If he had not been injured at all, he still would have ended up in the NFL on a west-coast team and figuring out what mattered to him and what didn't after a while.

Not sure the nature of the NFL would have agreed with him for too long, either. Not a bad thing.
