Not sure if you guys are into Hockey. The Carolina Hurricane are back in the Stanley Cup Finals after trouncing Montreal 6-1 last night. First time back to the finals since they won it in 2006. Coach Rod Brind’amour was captain of the 2006 team.

Hurricanes breezed through the playoffs, loosing only 1 game total in (3) best-of-7 playoff rounds. Team is playing great hockey and seem to be peaking at the right time.

Game one is 8:00 Tuesday on ABC vs Las Vegas Golden Knights.

Raleigh is going nuts right now with Hurricane Fever.

Unrelated but similar storyline. Arsenal is back in The Champions League Final after more than 20 years. They just won the Premier League last week, and are lead by former player Mikael Arteta. Today at noon on CBS.

The amount of goals scored last night definitely surprised me -- not sure I believed the Knights could score 5 on Carolina.

Game 3 was a wild one. Vegas went up 4-0 in the first period. Carolina came back and scored 4 in the 3rd to send it into OT. Vegas won on a Carolina own goal, after a defection of the puck by the defender.

Vegas leads the series 2-1. Game 4 is tonight.

Canes win 5-3 last night. Another tight game that was 4-3 in the final minutes before Carolina scored and empty net goal.

Series tied 2-2

That was a great game last night, I only was able to tune in at about the 15 minute mark in the 3rd period...so I'll take credit for the final two goals. Staahl full-on belly flop to get the winning goal was just spectacular.

Canes win Game 5 last night 4-2. Take a 3-2 series lead.

Carolina needs to win either Game 6 in Vegas, or Game 7 (if needed) back in Raleigh to hoist the Stanley Cup.

I like our chances.

It is wild to me that both teams are from cities where it never really snows, much less the lakes not freezing over.

That is Ironic. But the Florida Panthers have won the last 2 years. And the last time a Canadian team won was in 1993! After Canada pretty much dominated during the 80's between the Calgary and Edmonton.
