There is a considerable build-up of US air power going on in the middle east right now. I don't know why major news outlets are not posting about this, but we could be looking at some kind of war happening in the future.

There are questions as to whether this is some kind of bluff to force the Iranians to agreeable terms, and concerns about what happens if the Iranians call our bluff.

There is also speculation as to how this could spiral and get ugly.

Most Muslim countries wouldn't be upset about regime change in Iran, they just can't state that publicly.

For sure the Saudis won't be upset. One has to guess countries like Bahrain, Quatar, UAE, & probably Iraq are more than tired of the constant upheaval and threats the Iranians bring.

Any student of US naval history will tell you this stuff on the high seas has been going on since our country's early days beginning in the early 1800s.

Speak softly and carry a big stick.

From my understanding, there was supposed to be a military flyover for one of the SC baseball games this weekend, but that was cancelled by the military because there were no planes available with the current build-up in the Middle East.

It’s a tail wagging the dog distraction like Venezuela. Pay no attention to the pedophiles in power. Industrialized war machine marches on.

Guys let's keep this about Iran. Henry made it clear no politics. We have kept the Ukraine thread as it's been mostly good discussions without the typical R v L bickering. Let's keep this in the same spirit.

McEntire sent 12 Vipers to Jordan. I think they have only 18 total. I don't know why Shaw hasn't sent any, unless they already have jets in theatre.

Iraq had the best weapons Russia had to offer, but they did not have a chance against us. Iran will be not different. If we go to war, they will not last long.

Yeah, and then what. Another 10-15 years of nation building and troop presence?
I don't see that happening. The Iranian people desperately want peace and more of a "Western" lifestyle and Government.

What I do know is that Iran has been a bad actor on the world's stage for a long time to include the killing of Americans both directly and indirectly. Regime change would be a good thing.

One can't say they haven't been asking for it.

While 20 surviving hostages were released on October 13, the first phase was not officially completed until January 26, 2026, when the remains of Master Sgt. Ran Gvili, the last Israeli hostage, were recovered, marking the final account of all captives taken in the October 7 attacks.

It's safe to say the return of the Israeli hostages would not have happened without threats made to Tehran by the current administration.

Peace through Strength.

Don't know why that comment was even made.
Because they’ve worked so hard to redact/conceal after stating previously they would support information being released. They’ve suppressed information and not allowed testimony from many affected. It’s not political and it’s sad that such a terrible thing as this has become so. It should be about right and wrong. Both parties are guilty of this and both had their opportunities to do the right thing. It’s the politics that keeps them from doing so and forced them to sacrifice morality. Neither has a monopoly on corruption. But yeah, let’s bomb Iran. We should win this one easily but what next? Probably no plan for what happens after.

I find it altogether demoralizing that there appear to no more public role models these days. I hardly ever watch the news on TV or on social media because it's just so repetitive and boring. In later years our generation(s) learned a lot of that stuff was just branding, but still the role models were there if you looked for them.

The current negative and chaotic environment is the closest to the late 1960s that I can remember and that's just from the history books since I was too young to be exposed to it back then.
