So maybe Trump should have just kicked the can down the road like previous admins did because they were afraid of the backlash of high fuel prices, the no war ever no matter what crowd and the Monday morning quarterbacks that think they know what we should do. We could have just waited until they had a nuclear weapon and hit Israel, Europe or the US and then maybe everyone would feel better about us acting. There was no easy answer here and conflict is messy no cut and dry like some think it should be. We could end this thing today if we had no concern for the citizens of Iran, but that is not the case.

And if Trump had done nothing and Iran did indeed end up launching a nuke at Tel Aviv or some European city or God forbid one of our cities the same people complaining about all of this would be attacking/criticizing Trump for not doing anything to prevent it because by God he HAD TO KNOW about it because every President going back 4-5 administrations stated the obvious danger.

Yep. Tired of all the politicization of it and the same people saying Iran was a clear danger that needed to be dealt with and did nothing are now the ones complaining to score political points.
 
This was the most insane single day in American foreign policy in a generation and most people missed half of it..

> Netanyahu went on live TV and admitted he was acting on a US request..

> Defense Minister Katz got overruled within hours after saying Lebanon ops "have not yet been completed"..

> a 10-day Israel-Lebanon ceasefire took effect overnight.. displaced Lebanese civilians started walking back to their villages..

> oil dropped 12% in minutes.. global equities surged..

> Iran's Foreign Minister declared the Strait of Hormuz "completely open" — first time since March 27..

all of this.. one Friday..
 
I would like to be optimistic, but the 9/11 attacks came from out of the blue and caught us off-guard back in the day.

Netanyahu obviously has a gameplan and has to act while the military assets are available to him.

I also think any official in Iran who takes our side will be eliminated internally eventually. Iran is also a master BS artist.

I would give any agreements in place about two weeks or so before the violence eventually resumes.
 
Yes, those are the facts as stated by Donny. Most are unsubstantiated, inaccurate, half truths, unverifiable. Iran is firing on ships in the strait so they’ve ‘re-closed’ the strait. Tankers are turning around. The 13% drop oil did happen as markets are quick to react on words, but the actions since those will probably affect it in the opposite direction if history holds true. Israel didn’t state what DT said exactly and actually only agreed to a pause, stating that their fight isn’t over.

Starting week 8 of a "special Operation" that we were told would last 2-3 weeks.

No clear end in sight. Cease fire hangs in limbo as US attacked Iranian cargo ship. Iran threatening to retaliate.

JD and Kushner heading back to Pakistan to talks. Iran says there are no talks. Why is Kushner (not part of this government/ administration) going, and not our Secretary of State?

Straight of Hormuz still closed, oil and gas prices remain high.

On and on we go.....

I have to wonder which country the Army wounded are coming from since they are much higher than the rest. Is this why Hegseth canned some senior Army leadership recently? It certainly would make sense. Are the Army casualties happening in Israel? I thought we sent some to Army troops to Israel a while back, but I don't know.

Straight of Hormuz still closed.
Iran still has enriched uranium - supposedly.
No regime change.

What exactly have we accomplished? Aside from higher oil and gas prices?

At least the cease fire is generally holding. But we seem to be in a bit of a diplomatic stalemate, with not much happening at the negotiation table.
 
Iran is going to run out of ability to store oil in short order. The strait being closed is killing them more than anyone else. Gas prices seem to be the rallying cry for those who can only criticize Trump. We have all of the leverage in this negotiation.

Remains to be seen if they blink and negotiate. I do not think they will give up their nuke ambition that easily. I think they will hold out longer then most people expect.

Hope I'm wrong.
