Iran: US build-up of forces

Thank you for your service and the intel. However “Army munitions” is wide ranging. I think the shortages I’ve been reading on are mostly about missiles and interceptors/defense systems. There’s obvious overlap across branches but the same sites telling us we’re winning are reporting the shortages. Iran infrastructure isn’t what’s still closing the strait and launching attacks at allies. If we can take them out with ease, we shouldn’t hold back if we’re loaded up. It certainly would make negotiating far easier.
The infrastructure I'm in reference to are bridges, oil refineries, oil wells, pipelines, railroad terminals, energy generating facilities etc

Understood and that’s what I’m referring to. I get not destroying that but if we have missiles to burn, take out what they have left that’s randomly firing on allies, bases, etc. Stop the defensive measures and amp it up to get this over with. If we have this surplus and shock and awe ability to destroy them, they’ll beg for it to stop.

I agree, it's time to end this one way or the other. IMHO we need to tell them (diplomatically without fanfare or bluster) that they have until 12 midnight June 3 EST (for example) to accept the terms or face the consequences.

No more extensions, no more BS. If they don't meet the deadline pound them, declare victory and make sure they understand that if we get wind that they're involved with enriching uranium again we will attack again.

We have already declared victory many times. Didn’t seem to work.

Today it sounds like negotiations are way better.
Iran finally realizes they have been beat and even though they still have some drones and missiles hidden, they do not have near as many as they once had and do not have a Navy or Air Force anymore. And Ukraine told us how to stop their drones.
If we were to start bombing again, they would be in way worse shape. And if President Trump ordered it, our special forces could go in and get those nukes.
Like Blitzkrieg stated, we stopped because the other ME countries asked us too.
We have thousands of marines right there on a transport ship in the Gulf of Oman and I am sure there are Hundreds of Seals and and Green Berets close by too. Apparently, we have still been escorting cargo ships through the Straight but have not let a single ship leave or enter Iranian territory. And ever since his trip over, there has not been any talk about China fussing anymore. They realize it is better to just buy oil from use than to try and get involved in Iran.
I believe we could easily finish them off, but innocent civilians would be getting hurt because they hide behind them like Hamas did in Gaza. They don't just hide underground. They hide under hospitals and schools.
If President Trump were to take out all the bridges and factories, that would also hurt so many innocent people. He is doing the smart thing and giving them a chance to end this the best way possible for the people there.

I agree on all counts. Iran's military is good at killing women and children and unarmed men. That's about it. Trump is doing this the best way possible for the people of Iran after this is over.

Iran can continue to lob a dozen missiles here and there and send a dozen drones here or there for probably weeks or even months but in the big picture it means nothing.

Like Blitzkrieg stated, we stopped because the other ME countries asked us too.
This is not true. Several ME countries (including the Saudis), were encouraging the US to continue the operation and take out the IRGC regime. This would relieve them of the Iranian headache. We were running low on interceptor missiles and had to invent some kind of pause to keep from getting embarrassed more with Iranian drone and missile attacks.

Anyone that knows anything about warfare knows you don't whip out a cease fire if you've got your enemy on the ropes.

Now with the war powers act votes in Congress, it's all but over. The IRGC & all of its proxies live to fight another day.

The administration can blame Congress for not allowing them to "finish the job", which gives the WH some kind of off ramp/face saving excuse. You can fully expect certain media sources to try and spin this into some kind of great victory, while the IRGC has emerged empowered & resilient with no changes in the original reasons for the war in the first place.

In the mean time, stocks of critical missiles will take several years to replenish.

The administration should have went to Congress and asked for war powers authorization prior to starting this fiasco. Or at least within a week or 2 of stating it. This is all on the Administration.

He should have done the same with our allies, rather than begging for the help when things went sideways, and then trash talking them when they didn't want to help clean up this mess.

Trump thought all of this would be over in a few weeks. He severely underestimated Iran and did not foresee the unintended consequences.

Victory has been declared and we can easily take out what’s left with little to no effort. They’re begging us to stop and we have the clear upper hand as they beg for peace. No negotiating is needed as we threat to midnight hammer and epic fury them even more with massive stockpiles of weapons. Nukes are a thing of the past for every nation as America has become the world’s HOA.

Well!
Guess it's time to move on to Cuba.

He didn't want to go to Congress because several Democrats would have tipped off Iran. Same with our cowardly so called "allies."

Tipped off Iran of what? People all over the world were tracking USAF flights back and forth via FlightRadar24. The same with movement of USN vessels. Everyone knew what was coming if it actually happened.
And our good old Russian friends were providing Iran targeting updates of what came and went from all our bases in the ME.

We went from bragging about how we were going to destroy Iran to blaming our "allies" for not jumping into something they weren't invited to in the first place.

$950B domestically plus all we spend on our “ally” doesn’t need any help.

We've just witnessed a debacle that rivals the Vietnam war. Thankfully it's over. It could have been much worse with a ground invasion.
The damage this has done to US relations with our Allies, especially Israel, is severe.
Now on to the spin moves to try and paint this as some kind of victory.

United States:
15 soldiers killed
543 military personnel wounded

Instead of eliminating the threat, this deal merely postpones it while handing Tehran something even more valuable: time. Time to regroup, rebuild, rearm, and continue advancing its ambitions.

Without the complete dismantling of Iran's enriched uranium stockpiles, without addressing its ballistic missile program, and without seriously confronting its regional terror network - Hezbollah, the Houthis, and other Iranian proxies - the regime is effectively being granted breathing room to continue its campaign of destabilization and terror.

Any ceasefire with Iran is temporary until one is not.

Iran will use Israel's attacks in southern Lebanon as an excuse. I give it about two weeks.
