4 star LB Quinton Powell 6'2" 190lbs of Daytona Beach, a former Florida commitment, has confirmed he will visit USC January 25th. He says the Gamecocks are very much in the picture for his services. "They are a good program and they're a good defense," said Powell. "They are always competitive in the SEC. South Carolina was the first school to offer me so I have a older relationship with them." Powell will take his first visit this weekend heading West to Southern Cal. He has canceled his trip to Arkansas that was scheduled for February 1st and will visit Oregon instead. "They called me and told me they were really interested," he said. "They want me to come check them out." Miami is also a possibility for his final visit. "I won't visit Florida because I've already been there," he added. As for what Powell is looking for he said, "I want to see where I can live for the next four years without getting homesick. I want to go somewhere that I can feel comfortable without too much stress. I don't have any favorites because I haven't even taken my first visit." Powell plans to announce on National Signing Day.
