WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

The SEC tournament officially started with the 9-12 seeds playing the 13-16 seeds. The higher seeds won all 4 games.
Today the 9-12 seeds play the 5-8 seeds.
Our girls get to play tomorrow against whoever wins the #9 UT vs. #8 Vandy game today.

Back in Jan. UT played a very competitive game against us on their home court, 70-63. They are now ranked #13 with a 22-8 record.
In Feb we played at Vandy and won 82-54. They are now ranked #22 with a 21-9 record

Vandy had beat UT 71-70 at home which gave them the higher seed, but I think UT will win today when Vandy does not have the home court advantage. They play at 11:00.

As long as our girls are ready, tomorrow should be an easy win for us against a team that just had a tough game 24 hours earlier.

Dawn's teams always elevate their play for the post-season and I don't think this year will be any different.

Vandy beat UT.

Vandy's pretty thin so I would think we can wear them down fairly easy. This will be like a "home" game for us.

The only concern is that Vandy does have a terrific scorer with freshman Mikayla Blakes -- who was the SEC Freshman player of the year. SC usually handles top scorers pretty well with their defense, but having Blakes does give Vandy a puncher's chance if she is able to go off.

But yeah, I expect SC to handle the Commodores.

So we handled Blakes pretty well. It seemed like the one thing we actually had to fear was ourselves.

This team seems incapable of putting 4 good quarters together for some reason. I hope it's not our undoing.

Agree with you 100% Blitzkrieg. I'm really hoping we can string together some complete games as we progress through the Turney.

In all fairness after being up 25 points at the half I can understand why they may have relaxed some but that's dangerous. I was hoping we'd develop more of a killer instinct this late in the season.

We won and that's all that matters at this point. I was looking at the box score and no one played over 30 minutes tonight. Hopefully that'll pay dividends tomorrow.

Well the girls take care of Oklahoma, sets up a third game with Texas tomorrow.

I watched UT vs LSU. They both played good defense. We beat them 67-50 here, then they won 66-62 there. Tyger l the way I look at it, they are coming back to SC for another butt whopping.
