I assume some others may worry like I do.
I have just been going through so many questions and added some of my own comments which are even more questions ...

1. Will LaNorris look as good as last season?
They say most QBs are better in their 2nd year. Will he still run like he did. Will he stay in the pocket more. We he be a Heisman Candidate.

2. How will our WR's and TE's look?
13 WR, 7 TE on roster. Will Nick Harbour spending the entire training stretch in football and not track this year make him be a star? Will LaNorris have another great TE.

3. Who will be our key RB?
There are 10 RB on the roster. Will Falson replace Rocket? He had decent stats at Utah St. but will he do just as good in the SEC? What about Adaway? He might have a great year.

4. How will our D line look this year? Might they be even better?
We have Stewart who I think is going to wreck a lot of offensive lines this year. And several others in that room. I worry most about the inside line. Only 3 DT and 6 DL on the roster. No room for injuries. 10 Edges so they will stay fresh.

5. Will our secondary be as good as expected?
11 LB and 22 DB on the roster. Will we be called DBU again? We sure do have plenty of them here. I can't wait to see how they do. Torrian Gray, Lucas, and White all three working with the backfield.

6. Is South Carolina really the #13 team in the country?
It feels odd to actually be considered good in the polls. Ranked high in the SEC instead of 14, 15, or last. And then wonder why we are only a 7.5 pt favorite this week.
I just hope we come out and prove we really have it. I would love to see us win by at least 20 pts.

7. How will we be against LSU?
LSU may have trouble with Clemson and Florida. I would love to be 5-0 when we get there and get bigtime revenge for this past season. I know we only lost because the referees did not want their pet to lose. Hoping we will not even let them be close this year.

Just a lot of questions going thru my head.
Look for me on TV Sunday. I will be the guy in Garnet and Black standing up doing all that yelling.

Good questions. It would be nice to pound these guys but I've been a GC fan for a long time so I'll be expecting disaster to unfold at every play. lol

Things have been quite around Columbia despite us being ranked #13 in the preseason poll. That hasn't happened since the 33-6 years and it has to be because of our perceived talent thanks to Shane's recruiting efforts. Being ranked that high is not a gratuitous ranking, either.

I think they are expecting to see more from this team than we are USED to seeing.
I saw one site called ROTO BALLER that picked us to be #3 in the SEC. https://www.rotoballer.com/preseason-sec-college-football-power-rankings-all-16-teams-2025/1666353

We have been consistently inconsistent since Spurrier left and I don't see the expectations changing until we get better and stay that way for a bit.

I think the disappointment with MBB and Baseball this past season maybe has made the fan base pessimistic, too. I am looking forward to seeing how we do. This is the first season where we haven't had UGA and UT on the schedule. We seemed always to get banged up in the UGA game early in the season and struggle from there. I think we have a decent chance to get better early in the season for the first time in a while.

I am going into this season without high expectations. I hope I am proven wrong.

Over the decades, I have learned that if you go in over-hyped, over-optimistic, it just leads to disappointment as the season goes along. I would rather it be the other way around. Life as a Gamecock fan. It is what it is. Gotta coach 'em up!

I hope my questions get answered in a good way. I still feel, the way we play this Sunday will be a big preface for the season.
VT is not some great powerhouse, but the way we play will say a lot about the way we will do in those first few games.
Have a tough game against them and it could be signs of a tough season. Have a big win and all SC fans will be looking forward to this season.

You better believe that I'm ready for some football. As is everyone else, I'm trying to tamp my enthusiasm for this year's team, but I'm ready for any college football.

I was thrilled when HS started up last week. Being the statistician for my alma matta is really great. I get to attend every game, home and away, and sit in the press box. In most cases that includes free food.

Speaking of which: last week we, a 4A school, played a 5A school. They had beat us 56-0 last season. This time we beat them 46-21. Our QB was 25 of 30 for 470 yards and 5 TD with another 81 yd. rushing and a TD.

I sure would love to see Sellers play like that Sunday. 500+ yards and 6 TDs.

i think the talent and experience is there to be a believer and expect us to play relatively well out of the game especially compared to the last couple years. i wonder if there will be any surprises with the lineups when we kickoff. we've seen speculative depth charts from insiders but no official release from beamer. who start's at dt but also how deep does that rotation go there and at edge? who's the 4th dt and do we play 5 or 6 vs va tech? then do we see any new wrinkles from dc white with the pass rush to free up stewart. any chance we'll see some 3-3 looks?

the talk is the oline is thompson, sarratt, stanley, baugh, and then either henry or tree at right tackle. any chance we'll see a surprise starter and do we possibly see a limited rotation on the line? any chance we see a freshman start at wr? is it kilgore at pr and and harbor at kr or someone else? i wouldnt expect any packages with kilgore at safety but could we potentially see vs a pass happy team for us to a run a dime package at times with kilgore and cisse as the slot corners?

thats most of my random thoughts and questions.

i think faison will be better than rocket, no slight to rocket. i really like his vision, feet, patience, and combination of size speed. he makes great cuts. he showed he could carry a load for a team last year. we have the benefit of him being 25 years old but also not having much wear and tear as hes only played in college the past 3 years with only 88 carries the one year he played at junior college. not that ive watched complete utah state games but very good consistent output and doesnt fumble.

I’m past ready for football to start. I hope we come out prepared and balanced. Sellers need to pickup were he he left off last year. Protect the ball and make good decisions. Hope it’s fun watching early season improvement on the O line. Score early and often. Gamecocks by 20+!
