He’s a Gamecock! This is a NICE get for Coach Paris, and one that is a real, true fit in Coach Paris system of play. I like it a lot! Excited to see him play… he’s a smart, articulate kid, with a great BB IQ. Gonna do very well for the ‘Cocks!
I don’t think this was a case of Columbia influencers. After all, it was reported by both sides that GG and Cam talked about Cam’s visibility and potential in Columbia. Kid just wanted to get away, and TX NIL looks better than SC NIL, unless you’re a GG Jackson or Nick Harbour. But yes, brutal...
Piper has some highlight reels out there, but they’re hard to locate. He’s definitely got some skills, and as he gets coached up should be a quality grab...
Redshirt commitment is an interesting use of scholarship. I’m really curious how Coach Paris sees Ugusuk developing and how he will utilize him at USC. It’s an intriguing get, and one which I’ll be watching closely.
Honestly, Chico was the main beneficiary of a reduced and hampered squad this season. I truly believe that if Ebrima Dibba had remained healthy, and given the minutes Chico got under Frank Martin, that Chico Carter would have been mostly a non-factor for the team and would have transferred...
He’s got a very nice outside shot, and reads the floor well for passing. A few inches too short to be a great guard for us, but good tenacious defense and GREAT (as you said) outside stroke.
Ford Cooper ain’t bad either, and plays “D” like He wants your lunch money.
The walk on’s have played...
Same kind of garbage went down with Baylor men’s basketball back in 2003. This is an NCAA rinse, wash, repeat situation.
Bama will play on and then eventually have their record blemished after the fact. Think Lance Armstrong in cycling or what will likely happen to LSU basketball from years...
The Mizzou team would be hard to defend from 3 point land, regardless. They are one of the hottest shooting teams in our league right now, and we played them REALLY well overall. Nothing for the guys to hang their heads over.
Actually playing strong defense without fouling so far in the early 1st half. Keep that up, we get some good points off pushing the ball post-defensive rebound.
I completely agree. The only exception I can think of was Jason Kidd WAAAAY back in the day. He, of course, had some vets around him, but not (at least that I can remember) that alpha around him.
I was remembering Brenton Williams from Frank Martin’s first years with USC. Brenton was no GG...
Hard to “find a way to win” when you have only three players who can generate offense/defense. That’s two short of a full squad, @kingofnerf. And when one goes down or fouls out early (I’m looking at you Hayden Brown), well… Simple math.
Just for some historical perspective, in Frank Martin’s year 1, we had some blowout losses as well (though not 40+ point losses). 75-36 vs. UF; 77-55 vs. UK; 64-46 vs. LSU; 90-68 vs. Mizzou at home. There were a large handful of games in the 11-12 point loss range as well.
Give Lamont the...
I think what is lost on most people is that Coach Paris lost a key cog in his newly minted Gamecock men’s BB machine PRIOR TO the start of the season.
Ebrima Dibba was to have been a complement to Meechie Johnson and give us another solid scoring option. He was one of the two most intriguing...
