We cannot discuss the current war without the context of the Soviet Union, WWII & and the Cold War. Putin is an old school Soviet commie.
Those areas of Europe, including Ukraine, Poland & Finland all have lots of blood on their soil thanks to the Russians.
And there is no doubt in my mind...
Brings back lots of memories. I spent many hours in the dry docks at the Charleston Naval Shipyard.
This was our world (below). This is a floating dry dock on H pier at the old Charleston Navy base. The Batfish was stationed in CHS. She has fresh paint and ready to go.
If we don't help stop them now, we'll eventually be at war with them through NATO. They are capable of huge amounts of dirty sh_t.
There is a reason Sweden & Finland are now joining NATO.
Resolving some of their energy issues has made it easier for Germany to stand up to RU. RU no longer has Europe by the privates & is making lots of enemies.
Russia will get their azzes kicked if the UAF/ZSU can master combined arms & logistics to support an armored assault. But we just don't know effective those Russian trenches/minefields will be. If the UAF/ZSU gets stalled, they may be open for lots of arty & take losses.
So many unknowns!
UAF/ZSU offensive is emminent once the mud dries up. Consensus is they are going to try and cut off the Russian land bridge, which will help isolate Crimea.
The next 6 months are going to be dramatic. Slava Ukrani!
I think the UAF/ZSU already has enough captured equipment. We're now see lots of vids of drones dropping grenades into abandoned vehicles in order to destroy them.
M2 Bradley on left, Slovenia T-55S on the right. The T-55 is a significantly upgraded version. UA/ZSU is working hard to get ready...
Amazon....why drive to BB&B if you can buy something sitting on your butt for lower prices. If you don't like, just drop it off and get refunded.
It's just too easy to click on Amazon and order what you want.
Biggest difference is the absence of air power. The contrast with this war and Desert Storm is night & day.
It does give US airpower a boost in regards to the Pacific (i.e. less airpower is needed in Europe).
