Did I read somewhere on an earlier thread that one of our 2014 DB recruits (Smalls or Harris) was injured? Any info on this?

Smalls has a knee injury and Harris has a tear in his hamstring.  Harris' injury is not too serious but Smalls may really make it hard for him to be a factor next year. But any how, Nothing against these young men, I hope they turn into great players- but lord help us if all we have to rely on are true freshmen! I understand people are worried- we lost our two starters at CB, the third best one left for no reason and we don't seem to have a bunch of talented guys waiting to take over at that roster spot... But we will be OK.

we DO have a couple guys with experience who can move there if needed- Bryson Williams is one they are trying out there now and rest assured they would t consider it unless he seemed to show the tools needed to pay that position AND we have back ups at Safety... Chaz Elder is another one who could get a look there. Is he as quick as Jonathan Joseph? As Athletic as Gilmore? No... he is a bigger frame, he has game experience playing in our secondary, he has good speed for his size and you can ask the Seahawks if 6-1 and 6-2+ guys can play corner! In today's game the notion that a corner has to be 5-10 and fast as lightning just isn't true any more. Will he move to corner? I don't know but we have a couple guys who COULD and likely would before we put a frosh out there who has never playd a down and isn't physically ready.

Rico McWilliams has a shot to win a job next year, so does Ronnie Martin and Ali Groves. Just because these guys didn't crack the line up this year, it doesn't mean they can't play! Remember they were buried behind a RS SENIOR and an uber talented RS JR! All three of the guys I mentioned were basically in year 1 with our program this season. Wll they become superstars? Who knows. Jimmy Legree had never played much meaningful football until he had been here about three years and turned into a STUD at CB. People seem concerned that we may not even have bodies to plug in at CB. We will. Are they as experienced as what we had this year? No... But I doubt the incoming freshmen are going to be relied upon to come in and take over.
