Four-star quarterback Tyler Shough worked out for the North Carolina coaches at camp on Wednesday before returning home to Chandler, Ariz. The visit to Chapel Hill comes on the heels of Shough’s reshuffled plans to return to the Carolinas.

SEC Country reported that Shough would visit South Carolina and North Carolina just days after he left the Elite 11. However, the day he was named one of the top 11 performers at the event in Los Angeles, Shough confirmed with SEC Country that he had to cancel the visits.

At the time, he said, the visits had not been rescheduled.

Earlier this week, Land of 10 reporter Brandon Justice wrote that Shough listed the Gamecocks in his top 5, along with Michigan, North Carolina, Indiana and California. Justice also reported that Shough would not attend Michigan’s quarterback camp this week.

With a commitment that’s expected to be announced next month, it would appear that things are pretty rosy for the Tar Heels.

Stay tuned.

The Gamecocks are also awaiting Sunday, when 4-star quarterback Dakereon Joyner is expected to announce his decision. North Carolina State is the other finalist for the 2018 prospect from Fort Dorchester High School (North Charleston, S.C.).

Thursday at Muschamp Camp

Four-star defensive end Joseph Anderson (Murfreesboro, Tenn.) will visit South Carolina on Thursday. Anderson, who’s ranked as the No. 7 strong-side defensive end (247 Sports) in the Class of 2019, is teammates at Siegel High School with 2018 South Carolina offensive tackle commitment Maxwell Iyama.

The duo could be joined by 4-star 2019 defensive end Ani Izuchukwu, who’s originally from Nigeria. The 6-foot-4, 230-pound prospect attends Davidson Academy in Nashville, Tenn.

Another 2019 prospect, quarterback Davis Beville (Greenville, S.C.), is also confirmed as a camp participant on Thursday.
