Owasso, OK - Collinsville graduate and Cowley County C.C. pitcher Brannon Jordan announced on Nov. 9, 2018 he had committed to play baseball for the Gamecocks. The 6-2, 195 RHP pitcher - a member of the 2019 class (for the 2020 season), Jordan was continuing down a well-worn path from Owasso to Columbia, SC that already held the footprints of past Cardinal standouts Jonah Bride and Braden Webb, past Gamecocks who are playing their trade in the MLB minor leagues.
Jordan would take a side-road via the Junior College ranks at Cowley County Community College, but he has made a very notable mark on the JC records on Saturday April 27th, as he threw a 7-inning no-hitter against the NJCAA 12th-ranked team Johnson County. Jordan threw 7 strikeouts with 3 walks, in the 7-inning shortened game due to it being the first of a double-header played on Saturday. Jordan's Cowley County C.C. Tigers won 2-0.
Jordan stands currently with the top ERA for a starting pitcher for Cowley County C.C., of 2.48, with a record of 4-2 in 9 starts, 32.2 IP, with 47 Ks and 11 BBs.
For Brannon's efforts, he earned the NJCAA DI Pitcher of the Week honors:
Congrats Brannon! Looks like help is on it's way for the Baseball program!
