This looks good! Only thing is I would put Dawkins as back-up to Edwards, as he's a senior with experience over Urich who's starting his 1st year as a WR. Also, Greene with Jones backing - Folks don't seem too high on Greene for some reason, but he started last season for the first time as a starter, after backing up Skai Moore and Brunson as a true freshman in 2017, and finished 2nd on the team in tackles. Jones looks like a very good player, and he could overtake Greene, but I think Greene has earned the respect from the staff to be the starter to start the season. Finally, I also hope that Cam Smith is a great DB for us, but I would start out with Horn at CB, after his great freshman season there last season.

But all these are just minor things. I like how the depth is developing on the team at many positions. I do agree that long time starters Smith and Thomas could end up as reserves to more talented underclassmen, and still bring in that wealth of maturity and experience in with the 2nd wave for the DL. We have good depth as well on the interior OL with Stanley able to move to a Guard spot, and let Manos snap the ball for a bit. Also have Douglas and Chandler Ferrell available to play either OC or OG. So we have options on the interior should there be injuries. The Tackle positions are more uncertain, but I also think RS-Fresh. Max Ilyama will be able to contribute, as long as he's cleared from his medical issue that he's dealt with this off-season. He was still able to practice and study with the OL Unit, just wasn't able to have hard contact....

What is the current word on Sorrells?

It's still pending, along with WR Tyquan Johnson. In Sorrell's case, academic issues popped up on his recruiting track fairly late in the process - a lot of folks were thinking he was waiting to pull the trigger, because he desperately wanted an offer from Alabama, and was waiting out the process as long as he could in the hopes of getting one. I don't think Bama ever offered him, but the academics may have been a reason for that.

Anyhow, once Sorrells committed to us, the talk was that he would be a JUCO sign and placement, but then it turned to him being given an academic red-shirt, and spend his true freshman year at USC getting his academics in order, and be ready for 2020 as a RS-Freshman.

But he has to get on campus, first. I think he still has the middle of July before the word becomes final one way or another, but if he's set for a red-shirt, then there's no rush there. But Sorrells is a legit quality DL talent, and I would love to have him be a part of the program. Hopefully he's getting things in order....

Sorrels is one I have high hopes for from the start. CWM, while discussing Sorrels has sounded positive about getting him on campus. I believe by mid July we should have a good idea on Sorrels getting on campus. If not we will probably place him in JUCO or Prep School in hopes we ink him after he finishes up there.

I watched a piece on him on the SEC network.  Seems like a good kid and a hard worker with lots of talent.  I hope he can qualify and does not have to go the JUCO route.
