Head Coach…

Jimbo Fisher

Fisher enters his second year in College Station looking to take the Aggies to the next step in the loaded SEC West.

Heralded as one of the best head coaches in the entire country, expectations are sky high for Fisher and his team this upcoming fall.

Year one was a success for Jimbo, winning nine games, including a 52-13 shellacking of NC State in the Gator Bowl.

How did they fare in 2018?

The Aggies had a good year under first year HC Jimbo Fisher, winning nine games including the Gator Bowl over NC State.

A&M just missed out on a massive upset against Clemson, falling 28-26 to the Tigers on a controversial touchback call late in the game.

After a disappointing loss to Bama in mid September, A&M reeled off three straight games, including the win over the Gamecocks in Columbia.

Texas A&M would drop their next two in a row however, suffering back to back losses to both Mississippi State and Auburn on the road.

They rebounded nicely, winning their last three regular season games, including a thrilling 74-72 win over LSU that took seven overtimes.

Best Returning Player…

QB Kellen Mond

Kellen Mond is one of the guys who honestly scares me the most on the 2019 schedule.

Mond is a true “dual threat” type QB, as he threw for over 3,100 yards and rushed for another 474 yards in 2019.

He also showed the ability to play well in the big moment, passing for over 400 yards in a near upset over the Clemson Tigers.

2019 should prove to be a big year for Mond, who has continued to improve since he stepped foot on campus.

Overall Outlook…

Similar to South Carolina, the off-season conversation for the Aggies has centered around one thing: the schedule.

A&M plays Clemson, Georgia and Alabama this fall, giving them one of the toughest slates to navigate in the entire country.

Despite that, expectations are through the roof for the Aggies in 2019, as fans await Jimbo Fisher and his team to take the “next step” in a SEC West that has been owned by Alabama.

TAMU does have a bye before its massive showdown in Tuscaloosa, a game that could prove as a stumbling block for the Crimson Tide.

The season for the Aggies will be defined by the closing stretch of the season: vs. South Carolina, @ Georgia, @ LSU.

Coming out of that stretch 2-1 or better should show the signs of progress A&M fans are hoping to see in year two of the Jimbo Fisher era.

2019 SEASON PROJECTION: 9-3 (6-2)

a thrilling 74-72 win over LSU that took seven overtimes.
Absolutely ridiculous that a college football game should be allowed to take 7 overtimes.

Do we despise a tie so much that we put our young men's health at risk?

Nothing thrilling about that at all to me.
