2019 TE Tyler Fromm enjoys South Carolina recruiting visit

January 28, 2018

Tyler Fromm was back in town Saturday for another South Carolina recruiting visit, his first since landing an offer from the Gamecocks in December.

Fromm last visited South Carolina for the Clemson game. The 2019 tight end from Warner Robins (Ga.) High School also visited while his older brother, Georgia quarterback Jake Fromm, was a still a high school recruit.

“The coaches took care of me and Columbia keeps getting better every time I visit,” he said. “The dorms were very nice along with the indoor facility. South Carolina feels like a place I could see myself at.”

The 6-foot-4, 220-pound tight end spent much of his time with tight ends coach Pat Washington, but also had some face time with South Carolina coach Will Muschamp.

“I would fit very well in the offensive scheme,” Fromm said of Muschamp’s message. “Because of the use of tight ends being all over the field.”

It was a similar story from Washington.

“He’s a great guy and definitely a coach I’d play for. Everything Muschamp said was what he had to say, too,” Fromm said.

For now, South Carolina and Troy are Fromm’s only offers. As a junior, he caught 43 passes for 529 yards and 5 touchdowns. As a sophomore, he caught 35 passes for 543 yards and 5 touchdowns.
