2019 teammates from Nashville list offers from Gamecocks

May 30, 2017

Earlier this spring, South Carolina sent offers to a pair of teammates from Montgomery Bell Academy in Nashville, Tenn.

Both are named Jackson and in the Class of 2019. And they both are interested in South Carolina.

The OLB

Jackson Hannah, a 3-star outside linebacker, was offered to play the “Buck” position in Muschamp’s defense. It’s a hybrid job that mixes in responsibilities of a defensive end and outside linebacker.

“They want me up there pretty soon and I’ll get to work on that as well,” Hannah said.

This spring, he was busy at home playing 7-on-7 and preparing for his junior season. Louisville was the only school he visited during the spring.

Hannah is still learning about the Gamecocks.

“Honestly, I don’t know too much, but I’d love to get to know the school and get a feel for the school when I go up there and just see what everything is about,” he said.

This summer, the 3-star recruit (per 247Sports) is planning to attend several camps on the West Coast.

Alabama, Louisville, LSU, Memphis, South Carolina and Vanderbilt have also offered the 6-foot-3, 220-pound prospect.

The OL

Jackson Lampley has visited a handful of SEC schools and he’s hoping to see at least two more — South Carolina being one of them.

“I really like what Will Muschamp has done this year,” Lampley said. “They went out and beat Tennessee, who was pretty talented. I thought that was really great how they had a good season this year. … This year, they shocked a lot of people.”

The 6-4, 299-pound 4-star recruit is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 11 offensive tackle in the Class of 2019. He has a handful of SEC and ACC offers, including Auburn, Louisville, LSU and Tennessee.

Several factors will be considered as he moves through the recruiting process.

“It’s mainly just for me, best fit, like which offensive line coach I like the best. Tradition and everything like that,” Lampley said.

Even though his father played at Tennessee, Lampley won’t allow that to play much of a role in his decision.

“I’m just trying to keep my options and see which place is the best for me. If it ends up being Tennessee, that’s great,” he said. “But if it ends up being anywhere else, that’s great, too.”

Crystal Ball Eval
Gamecocks waiting on three 2017 signees

Among the Crystal Ball picks that have been issued since Friday by 247Sports, only one legitimate Gamecock-related prospect received a selection:

South Carolina: 2018 4-star WR Josh Vann: The Gamecocks lead and WRs coach Bryan McClendon has made quite an impression, but Vann has visited only one other school. Let’s wait and see where things stand once he gets a few more trips under his belt
