• South Carolina is hosting its annual Pink Game to raise awareness for finding a cure for and celebrating survivors of breast cancer. The team will wear pink accessories for the game.
• While LSU holds a 22-15 edge in the all-time series, the Gamecocks have won the last 11 meetings and are 12-5 against the Tigers in the Dawn Staley era including a 6-2 record in Columbia.
• A win tonight would be Staley's 150th in SEC regular-season play. With 149 current such wins, she is second among active league coaches, trailing Texas A&M's Gary Blair by one while coaching in the league for five fewer seasons. Gamecocks improve to 17-2 and 12-0 on the season by defeating the LSU Tigers 66-59 in another sluggish defensive effort by the Tigers to dictate tempo. The Gamecocks jumped out to the 34-22 halftime lead and to 54-38 at the end of three quarters, before Coach Staley brought in the reserves and the Tigers won the final period by outscoring the Gamecocks 21-12.


Destanni Henderson led the way with 19 points, 3 assists, 2 rebounds and 2 steals. Zia Cooke added 13 pts, 4 rebounds and 4 assists, and Aliyah Boston posted yet another double-double with 12 pts, 13 rebounds and 6 blocked shots.


The Gamecocks may have been a bit tired after the 3-game week of Connecticut on Monday, Missouri on Thursday, and LSU today. They need to rest up because the final 4 games of the season involve three ranked opponents starting with 16th ranked Tennessee this Thursday in Knoxville.[SIZE=10.0pt]
