Tuesday's night game, the way the Braves almost choked away that game, imho gave the Dodgers some gained confidence and some serious momentum going into game 3. We'll see, if the Braves can regroup and regain that looseness and swagger they had, or if it was a tipping point.
After all of the post-season under-performance by the Braves, it would kill me if they didn't finish off the Dodgers. This year's team, gave me some hope, and I let myself believe...so we shall see.
The Braves have 2 primary hurdles to clear: 1) The starting pitching is barely a 2 man rotation with fill-ins. Wright should be 5th in a 5 man rotation. You can only do so much with Johnny All-staff Saroka is really missed right now. 2) The Dodgers are a solid team top to bottom.
This could play out like Secretariat vs Sham; Dodgers vs Braves
I didn’t expect the Braves to jump out to a 2-0 lead. I was hoping for 1-1, and was pleasantly surprised. I fully expected the Dodgers to win last night, just not in such a blowout. My opinion is that tonight is the deciding game. Whoever wins tonight will win the series.
Looks like Bryse Wilson will get the start against Kershaw. If Kershaw is 100% healthy, this will be a tough game. Need to make Kershaw work into deep counts to limit his innings and to see if his back is still bothering him. Wilson's career ERA is right around 6, so the Braves' offense better show up. Hate to say it, but I think this will be a Dodgers victory in another bullpen heavy game. Gotta hope that Fried and Anderson can pitch well on short rest the next 2 games.
