The first commitment for the 2021 cycle to South Carolina has now made herself known: 5-star Guard Aubryanna "Bree" Hall out of Wayne High School in Dayton, Ohio. Bree Hall is another stellar prospect out of Ohio along the lines of Zia Cooke, guaranteeing that we will continue to see games scheduled with Dayton, Ohio State, etc.
Bree Hall is a 5-star prospect on ESPN's Hoopgurlz ratings for the 2021 cycle - the #10 G and #26 prospect overall. Hall chose South Carolina out of a final list of 7 schools which included Tennessee, Kentucky, Mississippi State, Texas (looks like Dawn beat Vic Schaefer again!), North Carolina State, and Ohio State. She also had offers from Louisville, Florida State, Indiana, and Dayton, among others.
Hall is an athletic 5-11 guard that is a very strong lockdown defender but also has a strong mid-range game. She is a strong driver and finisher at the basket, and in all these skill sets she is very reminiscent of former Gamecock Alisha Gray, much like current Gamecock Brea Beal. Like Beal (and not quite at the level of Gray), Hall needs to continue improving her perimeter game at the 3-point arc.
