South Carolina target for the 2022 Cycle Talaysia Cooper out of Turbeville/Florence (East Clarendon High School) has tweeted out her early top 15 list of schools: South Carolina, Louisville, North Carolina, Oregon, Florida State, Clemson, Kentucky, Virginia Tech, Ole Miss, Wofford, Furman, Presbyterian, East Carolina, Temple, and North Carolina A&T.
Cooper is a 6-0 Combo Guard who averaged 28 ppg in high school for the 2017-18 season as an eight grader, and was the 2A Player of the Year as a freshman for the 2018-19 season, averaging 27 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists, 6 steals, and 2 blocks per game! South Carolina offered her back in the 2017-18 season, and has been considered her strong favorite for quite a while, but she still has quite a ways in high school to go. She's not yet listed in the ESPN Hoopgurlz top prospects - due to how far ahead the 2022 class is, they have only put out a top 25 at this stage - but she's obviously a very talented prospect, and would help in Coach Staley's program continuing to be among the elite programs in the nation for years to come, should she choose to wear the Garnet and Black!
