3 star DT Demetrius Watson commits to Gamecocks

Fort Dorchester 3 star DT Demetrius Watson 6-2 285lbs has known for some time that he wanted to play for the Gamecocks. Was offered back in the summer. He was just waiting for the right time to make it official. That time came Saturday afternoon in Columbia prior to the Gamecocks’ game with Florida. Watson met with head coach Shane Beamer and defensive line coach Jimmy Lindsey and made his plans to be a Gamecock official by making a verbal commitment to sign in December. Watson said: "It's great. I wouldn't even say it's like a player-coach, I'd say he's like a father figure in my life. An uncle, or something like that. We talk a lot about football, but outside of football, like what I'm doing, if I went fishing, what I had for dinner and stuff like that."
