Three-star linebacker Rosendo Louis, a Florida State commitment, flipped to the South Carolina recruiting class on the first day of the early signing period.
The Under Armour All-American from Deerfield Beach, Fla. also considered Miami, Oklahoma and South Carolina back in August, when he committed to Florida State. Now, after close to four months as a Seminole commitment, he’s set to sign with the Gamecocks.
According to the 247Sports composite, Louis (6-1, 225) is the No. 23 inside linebacker in the Class of 2018. He’s listed 74th among prospects from the state of Florida.
How he fits at South Carolina
On tape, Louis looks like a big, run-stuffing linebacker who likes contact.
According to his profile on ESPN, he’s listed at 237 pounds, which might be more accurate than his 247Sports number (225). He’s also rated as a 4-star by ESPN and ranked No. 6 among inside linebackers.
Louis plays blocks well and holds good leverage against the run. It’s sort of a natural look that he has playing in the box. I like it. To me, particularly early on, as in 2018, Louis could potentially help out in short-yardage and goal line situations.
