4 star DL Jahkeem Green decommits from Gamecocks heading to Nebraska
April 16, 2019
Up until just before the February signing day, junior college defensive lineman Jahkeem Green insisted he was committed to Gamecocks football.
Early in February, he confirmed academics would not allow him to sign that month, and a few days later, South Carolina filled up its 25 spots for the 2019 class. There were some rumblings he could try to enroll in August and count toward the 2020 class, but he reportedly gave his pledge to a Big Ten school over the weekend.
First 247 Sports and later the Lincoln Journal Star reported Green committed to Scott Frost’s Nebraska team, citing an assistant at Highland Community College.
Green, a Sumter native, is a four-star prospect, the No. 18 junior college player in the country.
At 6-foot-4, 300 pounds, Green was third on his team with 67 tackles, plus seven for loss and 2 1/2 sacks.
The Gamecocks added a pair of blue chip linemen in end/tackle Zacch Pickens and end Joseph Anderson.
