4 star OL Jaelin Humphries 6'5" 305lbs of Lawrenceville, GA attends Mountain View High School, appropriate for a mountain of a young man who checks in at 6-5, 301 pounds. Humphries will visit USC unofficially Saturday with his family and right now the Gamecocks set in his top three with Georgia and Florida.
Humphries was offered by the Gamecocks last July while he was in for a camp. He returned to Columbia for the Florida game last season, so he already has a good feel for what Will Muschamp is doing with the Gamecocks.
“They are an up and coming football team,” Humphries said. “I like the campus and how the team functions and the coaching staff. I stay in touch with them about every week. Coach Muschamp said he likes how explosive I am and how good I am at using my hands.”
Humphries said of his top three the Gamecocks are recruiting him the hardest at this point. But he’s not ready to name a favor or make a decision in the immediate future.
“I’ll narrow it down to the school where I fit in the best,” he said. “I do plan to graduate and sign early. All the schools are neck and neck and I want to take my official visits and then decide a few weeks after.”
Humphries said he could take some officials in the spring. He’s also planning to return to USC for summer camps. He said Georgia and Florida are also staying in regular contact.
Humphries also plays defense and last season he had 84 tackles with 6 sacks.
