Jammie Robinson
USC has long been in pursuit of 4 star SAF Jammie Robinson 5'11" 196lbs of Leesburg, GA. The Gamecocks had hoped to sign him early since he took an official visit with them in June. But he wanted to focus on his season, which ended with a state championship, and thus his recruiting has continued. Robinson said Monday he plans to take an official visit to Auburn this weekend and one to Tennessee the following weekend. He also has talked about visiting Kentucky.
The Tigers last month signed three recruits listed as defensive backs, and the Vols also signed three and have a fourth committed in Anthony Harris. USC signed two defensive backs last month, both corners, and is looking to add at least two more to the secondary.
Robinson has kept the Gamecocks at or near the top of his list throughout the recruiting process.
“I’ve got an advantage by playing early if I go there and possibly starting as a freshman (at safety or nickel),” Robinson said earlier in the recruiting season. “They (Will Muschamp and Travaris Robinson) tell me they need me and stuff like that.”
Robinson, according to his coach, is a physical safety with excellent cover skills. He’s also a standout in the return game.
