Carolina makes its second trip to Truist Field for its annual game against North Carolina. First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Tuesday’s game will be streamed on SEC Network Plus. All games also will be broadcast on The Game 107.5 FM with Derek Scott and Tommy Moody on the call.

SERIES VS. NORTH CAROLINA
The Tar Heels have a 64-38-1 series advantage on the Gamecocks heading into Tuesday’s game, but Carolina won the last contest, 15-2, on April 5, 2022. Braylen Wimmer had three hits while Jack Mahoney belted a three-run home run in the win. On the mound, Eli Jones did not allow a run in a two-inning start.

I understand UNC is OOC, but they are still a ranked team. A win tonight would still mean a lot in our standings and really give the team a boost going against an even higher ranked team. Beating #13 don't mean you are ready to beat #1, but it does mean you can compete with a high ranked team.

True, but it would also be so righteous to beat a ranked Tar Heel team with our bench players.
 
It was great to see the pitching staff and defense so strong. Gave up a couple runs but UNC did not get anywhere.
And to see the bottom of our lineup bring in the first couple runs was big. Way too many ground outs by our bigs last night. They never showed up until the 8th inning.
 
Yardcocks shut-out the Tar Heels 5-0 last night.
