Dickerson set for USC visit

7-1 Jordan Dickerson of Alexandria, VA made his first official visit earlier this week to Providence. Dickerson was there Tuesday and Wednesday before returning to New York where his uncle lives and where he will be playing in a tournament this weekend. “It was nice,” said Dickerson’s uncle Darnell Crawford who was with him on the visit and is assisting him with his recruiting. “Coach Cooley is a cool, down to earth coach. He liked Providence, liked the fact of some of the things they were saying. But that was the first school and we don’t want to jump on the first offer.” Dickerson and his uncle will visit USC this Sunday thru Tuesday. Crawford talked with Gamecock coach Frank Martin after returning from Providence. Auburn is a possibility for a visit after USC, and schools like St. Johns, La Salle and DePaul remain involved. Right now there is no favorite. “We’re going to take our time and look at these visits and make sure we are picking the right situation,” Crawford said.

Dickerson wraps up USC visit

7-1 Jordan Dickerson of Alexandria, VA wrapped up his official visit at USC Tuesday. The visit went well but Dickerson is not close on a decision. "He liked it, it was cool," Dickerson's uncle Darrell Crawford said. Crawford was with Dickerson on the visit. "We went to the baseball game (Sunday) and saw the arena. The baseball game was loud." Crawford said they watched the Gamecock players work out and talked with Frank Martin about how Dickerson would fit in. "He said the ball will go into to him on offense and defense," Crawford said. "The ball will go inside-outside. They will go into him everytime." Dickerson also has visited Providence, and his uncle said they are considering visits to Auburn and St. Johns. "St. Johns is hard on our list right now," Crawford said. Dickerson has tournaments in Milwaukee and Las Vegas coming up, so that will delay the decision process. "We're going to go home and sit back and think about the visits so far," Crawford said. "I want him to take another visit so he'll have something to compare." There is no date set for a decision. link: http://www.goupstate.com/article/20120605/PSPORTS02/120609861/-1/PSPORTS
