No, there was no decision made.
But A’ja Wilson has about all of the information she needs to make a decision.
The nation’s top-ranked basketball recruit wrapped up her fourth and final official visit on Monday evening, returning across town to her Columbia home after taking in South Carolina over the weekend. The visit to USC, which was her official one after unofficially visiting for games over the past year, went well and enabled her to see the campus, student life and other factors that she didn’t get to see earlier.
“It was a great visit, Learned a lot!”
Wilson has officially visited UConn, Tennessee, North Carolina and USC, the final four schools on her list. She will not make a decision until the end of her senior season at Heathwood Hall Episcopal School, which won’t be until at least the first week of March. The first day of the spring signing period is April 16.
Wilson attended USC’s win against Missouri on Saturday, sitting behind the Gamecocks’ bench. She saw the Gamecocks beat the Tigers, rising into first place in the SEC along the way, and saw a crowd of nearly 8,000 show up, mostly clad in matching neon T-shirts reading, “There’s no place like home.”
One student brought his own “big head” cardboard cutout of Wilson and held it up throughout the game. The students twice broke into chants of “We want A’ja!” late in the game as Wilson grinned from her seat.
Wilson Tweeted that she had a great time at USC as the crowd “showed mad love!” She also posted an Instagram photo of the game, featuring the cardboard cutout and Colonial Life Arena.
