I'm ASSUMING that Luke will be out for Week 1, based on the tea leaves. Then, I'm ASSUMING that the coaching staff is focusing on who other than Luke can manage the game in the first week or two of the season -- two games that, if we want to have a successful season, we HAVE to win. Then, lastly, I'm ASSUMING that Zeb's experience in Power 5 ball will end up with him getting the Week 1 nod.

We will see, plenty of practice time between now and Game Day!

 
And we're assuming Kevin Harris be playing game 1?  Hopefully QB will be announced soon, 10 more days of practice.  Brown does have an arm and good pocket presence.

I think the coaches will know soon, so they can get their choice as many reps as possible - but I doubt they will announce it ... why give the other team any intel?  Harris is reportedly very close to practicing.

I would agree.  I'm sure everything will be set by Saturday, so they can practice accordingly next week.

 
Harris is already drilling and running in full uniform. Coach Beamer stated today in his presser that they are looking online for Harris to get game prep practice next week, and if so then he could be good to go for Game 1. If he cannot get in good practices next week, then most likely he'll be held back for East Carolina, but that that would be pretty definite at the worst case. So pretty likely for Game 1, most likely definite for Game 2, but this all depends on what Harris can do next week.....

Doty appears to be further behind Harris' schedule. He had the cast taken off Sunday, and now is in a boot, but he hasn't been cleared for non-contact running yet, so I really doubt he'll be ready to go for Game 1 unless the staff rushes him which I hope they do not. Game 2 would be best case scenario, but we still have to see Luke take some serious practices and then see how his foot responds the next day before we even get to that point....
