COLUMBIA, SC - He came in as Frank Martin's most high-profile signee, but not even McDonald's All-Americans are immune from the freshman fog.

While the team was tying the program record for wins in a season with 25, Dozier was admittedly struggling at times as a freshman. When the final tally was in, the Spring Valley graduate and second-generation Gamecock had put up averages of 6.7 points, 3.0 rebounds and a little more than two assists per game. He did play in all 34 games, starting 28.

But entering the second week of preseason practice, it's a more confident PJ Dozier that is on the court. Dozier says having a full year of experience under his belt has made him more comfortable and he expects to be able to contribute more to the team in the 2016-17 campaign.

"It's been a great preseason, not just for me, myself but for the team," Dozier said. "Having that year under my belt, knowing what to expect, and knowing what I need to do."
