Gutless? You don’t know me very well. Check that-you don’t know me at all if you don’t think I fight for our University, Coaches, and student-athletes. https://t.co/1UA4fb0ggp

You know it's bad when USC and UT fans join together on social media to blast the SEC during a game week.

Tanner can either put up or shut up. If he wants to grow a set of balls and blast fans on Twitter, he can use those same balls to blast the SEC officiating for the crap our players endured on the field.

What prompted this tweet?
Kind of came out of left field best I can tell.

It started with this:

Brandon Goff was one of the many that responded to Heath:

This guy Chad responded to Brandon:

Next thing you know ADRT retweets Chad for the whole world to see:

Yep ol' Ray-Ray got fired up enough to jump into the fray against a random pissed-off fan. Does he have the cajones to go up against the conference and their shit officials? That remains to be seen. i responded to Ray on Twitter:

LOL!

I saw that.

The SEC officials did respond promptly, and they did it in-game - by calling a 15 yard penalty on Boom, then finally calling PI. Of course, it was Defensive PI on us, but still they showed they could call PI!!

There has always been a bias towards the bigger and more established SEC schools. This is not the first time that we got hosed, and it won't be the last. There is usually an admission that a mistake was made (duh) but nothing changes. I hope that Tanner and Caslen back Boom up on this oneand the SEC punishes the crew accordingly. Not by waterboardking or anything like that, but by giving them poor grades taht will keep them out of the postseason and hurt them in the pocketbook.
It's not technically waterboarding if you use diesel.

:blue-glow-lol-emoticon:  That I agree with!!

Thanks - Pretty dumb for Rayt to get involved in a twitter rant with a random fan. Nothing good ever comes from twitter.

What is it exactly that RT can do?  Complain?  I meant that’s about it, right?

Im sure the officiating crew will be reprimanded.  Possibly fired, or demoted to strictly Vandy games, but we won’t ever know because these officials are protected and rightly so.

The bigger issue is that they ever made it to officiate an SEC game.  The results can never be overturned, but this can’t happen again to us or any of our SEC brethren.  That was a BS SEC crew and we all deserve better.

Some people are good at their jobs, and some people aren’t.  That doesn’t mean they are bad people, it just means that they aren’t very good at what they do. And I believe what we saw on Saturday was a group of guys that just aren’t very good at what they do and they don’t deserve to be in the SEC.  And that needs to change tomorrow.

Ray Tanner and muschamp will work behind the scenes and make their opinions known, but when it comes to refs its pretty confidential because frankly, there are some crazy ass people in the world that might kill them.  So it’s not like it’s going to make front page news.   But, I can tell from booms post game interview and the comments from Ray Tanner on Twitter that they are pretty pissed off too.  Tanner does not strike me as the type of guy that just lays down and neither does Muschamp so I’m pretty sure they got the bases covered.  Let them do their work even though it won’t ever be in the public eye.

Is it me or did Ray kind of paint himself in a corner here?

He refutes being gutless to a random fan and goes on to champion that he will fight for the University, team, etc.

His only out after that twat is flying down to Birmingham at o'dark thirty tonight and being in the parking lot of the SEC home office waiting on Sankey so that he can punch him in the mouth.

Am I wrong?

Maybe the punch in the mouth is going too far but Ray sort of needs to be there waiting on them if he wants to talk smack like that.

What can Ray do?

He can make a very public stink about this which is the last thing the Home Office wants.

If the selection committee is weighing SEC officiating into their equation and examining games with a microscope,  the SEC is screwed and they know it.

There a ton of "code of conduct" rules the SEC has all of the coaches, AD's etc sign that prevent them from stepping out of line and going to the media but it might be worth the fines.

I'm not a Lane Kiffin fan however I respect that he didn't give a thought to taking the fine and not being afraid to keep going even after he got clipped for $5k.

Nothing, absolutely nothing will come of this.  SC is shit outta luck.  This is about money, and the money is with Florida succeeding.

That is what I believe, as well.  The SEC has Alabama, LSU, Georgia, and Florida all highly ranked, and positioning themselves for playoffs/bowl bids.  They are not going to jeopardize any money being lost by a USC or Tennessee upsetting their apple cart.

What good does a tweet do, other than get a lot of negative feedback?
Agree, Tanner needs to stay out of the weeds on that.  No need to argue with a fan who admitted later he was drunk.  Love the tweet by Kiffin though.

So did Ray show that he was willing to fight for the school or does he only have the balls to talk trash on twitter?

My guess is that nothing comes of it.   It’s about like the deal over the Hilinski headline in the snake newspaper.  Was  a big deal for about half a day to USC.
