Dec. 05, 2020
Gamecock are winding down there coaching search, with one current ACC head coach recently interviewing for the position.
That coach was Louisville’s Scott Satterfield, who had said a couple of weeks ago that he wasn’t interested in the Gamecocks’ job.
Satterfield is reportedly among the finalists of Oklahoma OC Shane Beamer, Florida OC Brian Johnson and Louisiana coach Billy Napier:
@johnmwhittle of The Big Spur website says tonight: "offer to the next head coach could come on Sunday. Early next week, however, is the goal for an offer to be made."
4 coaches still in the mix for @UofSC: Billy Napier, Shane Beamer, Scott Satterfield & Brian Johnson.

However, since Satterfield recently said he wasn’t interested in South Carolina, he’s facing backlash on Twitter for reportedly interviewing with the Gamecocks. First, here’s his statement from a couple of weeks ago:
South Carolina’s 247 site is telling its members Scott Satterfield interviewed with South Carolina yesterday. Guess he was more flattered than he let on.

Now, here’s few of the backlash he’s facing on Saturday after reports of his interview with the Gamecocks surfaced:

Do you really think Scott Satterfield can get the South Carolina job with a 3-win season? It’s crazy. That would be like a CEO getting a big bonus in a year in which the stock tanked and the company laid off hundreds.
