3 star WR Akia Booker (6-0 180) of Byrnes has been a key contributor to the Rebels' success since the 9th grade. This season he's among the state's top receivers with 58 catches for 1179 yards and 14 touchdowns. Booker's recruiting has been tepid but that's likely to change now that he's made a qualifying test score according to assistant coach Bobby Bentley. "Tennessee and North Carolina are showing interest and are waiting to see how he turns out grade wise," Bentley said. Clemson, USC, Georgia, Wake Forest and Notre Dame also have shown some interest in Booker.
