The decision could come as soon as Saturday during the Under Armour All-America Game (noon, ESPN2). He also could announce sometime after the game, he told the national networks Monday during check-in for the game. As an midyear enrollee, the decision would have to happen in the 10 days or so after Jan. 2.

Ridley was recruited by the previous Gamecocks staff and attended a camp last summer. He took an official visit to USC in December.

Ridley is a four-star receiver and the nation’s 177th best prospect, according to 247Sports’ Composite ranking, which factor in all networks.

He was one of the first out-of-state players contacted by Will Muschamp when he came on board as the new coach, and the message was that there is a place for him at USC.

“I liked it a lot, it was cool and a nice environment,” Ridley said after his official visit. “The new stuff that’s being built around the school and the new staff that they’ve got coming in, this could be turning South Carolina around. They are trying to turn it around and that really caught my eye.”

Ridley’s brother is a standout receiver at Alabama, so there’s the natural connection there for him. While his brother will offer some advice, Ridley said he will make his own decision.
