I just was thinking about how I am approaching 40 years as a Gamecock fan, having been dropped off on campus in August 1983 ... hard to believe. Have certainly had plenty of heartbreak, plenty of mediocrity, but also plenty of incredible moments, both in Willy B and remotely. I was trying to think of my all-time Gamecock football moments, and a couple have popped to mind, but I want to hear yours first. They can be in person or in front of the tube, doesn't matter - but I want to hear them, from the obvious to the obscure!

One of my favorites was being maybe the 5th or 6th best team in the SEC and beating those mighty acc champs by 3 TDs!

I have more of a favorite season I want to put in Georgia Rogers WATCHING HIM winning the Heisman 1980 on the field of play. Best running back that ever played here in my time. my first game was in 1965. Covers a couple of years, when he ran was like in slow motion it seem anyhow. Like a deer running through the forest. sliding through the gaps between those big trees.

We have always been the underdogs. so this year is really nothing new.

My very first job I worked for a man who was a UGA alum who worshipped the ground Herschel Walker walked on.

I hope we're going back to the good ole days of that rivalry with UGA this year.

We tend to take the comprehensive TV coverage and the Internet for granted these days, but there was very little TV coverage for us back in those days.

The Caroliniana Library has all the old sports footage from the TV shows plus the footage shot by the school during many of those games you couldn't see on TV back in the day.  A few of them are public access, but the rest have to be licensed.

Darlington Raceway has installed two large video monitors in the infield area and they had the old race footage running on them before the pre-race stuff started.  We could do something like that here on the new video board at W-B before the games.
