I was half expecting this, and half wondering what was going on with the staff. The pitching coach (Meade) and recruiting coordinator (Couch) left, and have been replaced (Parker for Meade, Caillet for Couch). Lake was a volunteer assistant, and he only got paid from camp revenue: perhaps he was a candidate for a full-time assistant job after Couch left, but Caillet took that spot. Now that the summer camps are completed, it's no surprise that Lake is moving on.
Expect a former Gamecock player to get volunteer assistant job to replace Lake - perhaps Scott Wingo. Matt Williams and Landon Powell have also been mentioned....
