USC coach Will Muschamp talked with the media Sunday night following an afternoon practice, and in looking back at the Alabama loss, Muschamp praised his offense for moving constantly in to Alabama territory but noted they have to score more points. Defensively, he felt good about the play up front but he said the secondary is a mess right now and they’ve got to figure out the issues back there. As for the touchdown issue at halftime, Muschamp reiterated that the official told him the replay official had ruled the runner down short of the foal and there was no reason to attempt to challenge that call. Muschamp said that a virus started moving thru the team last week and they cut back some things to help them out. Muschamp said Markway is playing good football for them and he played well Saturday. Muschamp said nothing vertical down the field hurt them against Alabama, it was slants, RPOs, quick stuff. Need to get more confidence in the secondary. They need to be able to man up and play some guys.
