Bama and the Tatars for the most have owned the new play-off system.

PLAYOFF APPEARANCES

With the 2019 season now only a day away, we're just a few short months from finding out who makes it to this year's College Football Playoff. Many top teams will be competing for spots, but for now, let's take a look at which teams have made the field in the tournament's five-year history.

There have been 10 separate teams to make the Playoff, and here they are in order of appearances (championships in bold red):

Alabama: 5 (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018)

Clemson: 4 (2015, 2016, 2017, 2018)

Oklahoma: 3 (2015, 2017, 2018)

Ohio State: 2 (2014, 2016)

Oregon: 1 (2014)

Florida State: 1 (2014)

Michigan State: 1 (2015)

Washington: 1 (2016)

Georgia: 1 (2017)

Notre Dame: 1 (2018)

Will our four 2019 CFP squads come from this group? Or, will a new team make an appearance?
