Bama jumps Georgia for 1 in AP Poll

October 2, 2022

Voters in the AP poll were swept away by Alabama’s performance in their win at Arkansas Saturday and elevated the Crimson Tide to #1 in their poll this week. The Crimson Tide received 25 first-place votes to 28 for the Bulldogs but totaled 1523 points to 1521 for Georgia who had to rally to win at Missouri Saturday night. The other 10 first-place votes went to Ohio State which remains third. Michigan is fourth and Clemson fifth.

Kentucky, Gamecocks' opponent this Saturday, fell from 7th to 13th with their loss at Ole Miss Saturday.

The folks at a dinner party I went to Saturday night were focused on the Clemson/NC State and Bama/Mizzou games.

I would like to see Shane and Mike Leach bring more parity to the SEC as the rest of the season plays out.

It will fun to watch if that happens.

Maryland and KState are two teams that I like seeing ranked because I think they are cool teams for some reason and just should be up there most of the time. Same for Iowa and Iowa State.

The Terps/Michigan game was a great game to watch Saturday. The Terps red unis look a lot better than that stupid coat of arms theme they have used in recent years.

The expanded format of the CFPs this year may work out pretty good in some respects.
