Bentley to have surgery, out for season.

I Figured that. It is for the best. Hope to see him back next year what ever color uniform he is wearing.

I wanted him to have a great year this season and I absolutely hate it for him and us.

Dak seems like he is prone to take off running more than he should be and that's why he was the #3 QB.

I just felt we needed him to come back healthy in the season just like Allen Mitchell did in the '84 season.

I hate it for Jake Bentley as he has always played hard and has shown nothing but respect and dedication to the Gamecocks and his teammates.  Ryan Hillinski played awesome for us against Chas Southern, but it was not NC nor is it Alabama.  I have always felt that the QB got far too much attention in a win and also far, far, too much criticism in a loss as it takes 11 on both sides of the ball to win a game.  After watching a lot of football this past weekend and last, it is apparent that a lot of teams either took their opening opponents too lightly or were just outplayed by a less talented team that wanted to win more than their opponent (USC VS UNC).  Whatever Jake Bentley decides to do, we (Gamecock Nation) should all be united in wishing him the best as he came here and played for us when he could have went to a lot of other schools that wanted him and nobody needed a QB for a team worst than we did when Jake Bentley was first installed in the lineup.

I am now a big Ryan Hillinski fan and Dak Joyner too, but I will always be in Jake Bentley's camp and be very proud of him and for what he did for USC.

Jake did a wonderful job for us. He always gave it his all. He may not be a Heisman QB, but he tried as hard as any to win games. When he was still HS age he came onboard and helped us win some games. We all expected better in that first game and none expected a season ending injury. I wish him a quick recovery. No clue what happens now. If Ryan has a good year it would be tough for Jake to get that spot back so he may want to transfer. Regardless, I pray he has a great season next year and actually goes on to play pro ball somewhere. I will keep on pulling for him where ever he goes.

I wish the best for Jake and hate that it went this way but it may end up being the best for all parties.

I think Jake goes as a grad transfer somewhere or may just go straight for the draft, which both are better for him than staying around USC at this point.  I think for USC it is better, because creates easy way to get Hilinski and Joyner on the field and further prepared for next year than having sat behind Jake this year.  Lastly, it is better for the long term QB succession plan.  If Hilinski is as good as many think, he'd like play the next three years and go pro.  That sets up Doty to redshirts one year, then get spot duty the following year and takes over the position as a redshirt sophomore and hopefully be an elite QB for 2 years before going pro.  I think many would take that QB situation for the next 5-6 years.  Now knowing our luck, it won't happen anything like what I just laid out LOL.

I wish him well, and thanks for being a Gamecock. The change of guard seems to have occurred so, with that again, wish him well.

So does Muschamp tell Jake he has to do wind sprints with the team?

One thing is for sure, we will find out if Bentz was the main problem on offense. This will be a tell all game as far as our offense goes.

I think the difference is Muschamp will probably have to pull Jake off of the field to prevent him from doing wind sprints with the team.

Although that would be kind of funny to see Jake pushing that little scooter from side line to side line during sprints.

I appreciate all Bentley has done for us, but I don’t see him coming back to Carolina.  Love Bentley and wish him all the best.
