The Tennessee Volunteers might be the dark horse of the SEC the way this is rolling. Sure, they give up a ton of points from time to time, but the name of the game is outscoring your opponents. For three weeks, the Vols have done just that.

Clemson Tigers vs Wake Forest Demon Deacons​

Clemson is entering this game with a 3-0 record overall to start their college football season and they will be playing their 1st road game of the season here. This will also be their 2nd conference game of the college football season this year as they are 1-0. They won against the LA Tech Bulldogs in their last game at home 48-20. DJ Uiagalelei started that game at QB and he completed 17/29 passes for 221 yards and 2 touchdowns. Will Shipley led the team in rushing with 139 yards and 2 TDs on 12 rushing attempts. Antonio Williams led the team in receiving with 57 yards and 1 TD on 2 receptions. Jalyn Phillips led the defense in that game with 3 solo tackles and 3 assisted tackles. Myles Murphy led the defense in sacks with 1 while R.J. Mickens, Jeremiah Trotter Jr., and Malcolm Greene all came away with 1 interception each for them in that one.

Arkansas vs Texas A&M​

Texas A&M isn’t doing anything to control the clock.

Yeah, again, the Texas A&M offense has problems.

Where are the playmakers? Devon Achane has world-class wheels, but he’s stuck in mud averaging just 4.3 yards per carrying. The receivers need to make big things happen more consistently, the quarterback play hasn’t been good enough, and this whole thing just doesn’t work.

In other words, A&M hasn’t shown it can take advantage of all the issues the Arkansas defense is having.

On the other side, the last thing a struggling offense needs to deal with is a pass rush – Arkansas leads the nation in sacks and is seventh in the country against the run. This isn’t the team the SEC’s last-ranked offense wants to face, and there’s another massive problem …

This is a deliberate team that needs to make teams play its style. That’s fine as long as the results are there, but A&M is keeping the ball for just over 25 minutes per game. Even so, it should still be 3-0, it beat Miami, and …

Even when Arkansas was lousy it gave A&M a hard time in this matchup – at least it has since the 2012 blowout loss.

It might have the nation’s worst pass defense, but 2022 Arkansas isn’t lousy.
