The state of South Carolina traditionally produces a lot of very good college football players. There are times when the state has a bit of a down year, which includes the 2021 cycle, but some of the best players in the country reside in the Palmetto State this season.
This year, there are three players from the state of South Carolina ranked in the Top 100 nationally with another ranked within the Top 200. That’s not a bad number for a small state, which totals five four-star or better prospects.
And this year, the state also has the No. 1 prospect in the entire country, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. Defensive end Jordan Burch is the best player nationally with a 0.9991 rating in the aggregate total, which averages the rankings of three different evaluation sites.
