Romello Martin
DL Romello Martin of Brooklyn, NY made an unofficial visit to USC Saturday but was not on hand for the scrimmage at Williams-Brice Stadium. Flight delays set him back but he did get in in time to tour the campus and facilities and meet with coaches.
“I learned everything about the campus,” Martin said. “Everything was amazing. I liked what I saw, the locker room, the indoor field, the stadium, the weight room.”
Martin met with Will Muschamp and his recruiter Lance Thompson and heard more about how he’s a need for their program.
“I learned that coach Muschamp and his coaching staff are all about their players and all about making their players better,” Martin said. “They are all about their players. They are here to make them better.”
Martin has had USC in his top ten and the visit gave him a chance to compare it with some other favorites like Boston College, Rutgers and Florida.
“I put the visit right up there with Florida,” he said. “Those are the two best visits I’ve had.”
Martin is still working on setting up his official visits and is deciding on his five. He does believe USC will get one of those visits. And he feels the Gamecocks sit in his top five at this point. The rest of his top ten are Florida, Tennessee, Rutgers, Florida State, Kansas State, Miami, Louisville, Penn State and Syracuse.
He’d like to make his decision in mid-January or he could wait as long as Signing Day.
