Bowl projections keep improving for the better as the Gamecocks continue their winning ways

South Carolina is the nation’s No. 25 team with a 5-2 record. It’s riding on a four-game winning streak with victories against Kentucky on the road and Texas A&M at home, the first win ever against the Aggies for the Gamecocks. With that resume comes some more high-profile bowl predictions.
Action Network’s Brett McMurphy placed South Carolina in the ReliaQuest Bowl in Tampa, Florida. McMurphy’s projection matched the Gamecocks up with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. The ReliaQuest Bowl formerly known as the Outback Bowl is scheduled for Jan. 2 and will air on ESPN2. Brad Crawford of 247Sports also placed South Carolina in the ReliaQuest Bowl, but against Florida State.
Notre Dame and FSU are not ranked at the moment, but the Seminoles received a vote in the most recent Associated Press Top 25 poll. Another prediction for the Gamecocks was the TransPerfect Music City Bowl in Nashville, Tennessee. College Football News placed South Carolina there, facing Michigan State. The TransPerfect Bowl is scheduled for Dec. 31 and will be aired on ESPN. CBS’s Jerry Palm still has South Carolina in the Liberty Bowl against Baylor. That game will be played on Dec. 28 in Memphis, Tennessee.
Many of the recent bowl projections had the Gamecocks in the Birmingham Bowl, and others placed them in the Liberty Bowl. But they’re moving up in the SEC bowl pecking order with their recent success.
