Bradford yet to hear from Loggains but might see him this weekend

SPORTSTALK / December 15, 2022

1671114552939.pngUSC has one 2024 quarterback committed in Dante Reno, though it’s possible he’ll reclassify for 2023. The Gamecocks also have offered 2024 QB Jayden Bradford of Chapin and IMG Academy. Head coach Shane Beamer, former offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Marcus Satterfield and former offensive analyst Nick Coleman recruited Bradford so well, he put them in his top four along with NC State, Penn State and Louisville.

Dowell Loggains has replaced Satterfield and he’s expected to pick up the recruiting baton and continue the communication with Bradford. That hadn’t happened as of Wednesday night. Bradford is returning to his Chapin home Friday and might visit USC this weekend for a bowl practice.

The change at the OC/QB coach position has not changed Bradford’s attitude toward the Gamecocks.

“I just loved Coach Satterfield and Coach Coleman. I was closest with them on the coaching staff,” Bradford said. “I honestly love Coach Beamer, what he’s doing there. I believe in him. It really won’t sway my decision.”

Bradford last visited USC for the Georgia game last September. He also visited for the spring game in April and had another unofficial visit earlier in the year. His interest in the Gamecocks is high, but he’s not putting them over the others in his top four at this point.

“NC State has been on me pretty hard recently,” Bradford said. “Penn State. The staff change at Louisville, I don’t really know what’s going to happen with that, but I’m going to see what the Louisville coaches are saying and if they are going to recruit me as well. I’m just not sure yet. College football is so crazy right now, it’s kind of hard to tell.”

Bradford said he will take official visits with all four schools in the spring and summer of 2023. He does not yet have a commitment date in mind.

In 9 games this season for IMG, Bradford completed 71-91 passes for 1071 yards and 19 touchdowns.
