Brian Bowen goes undrafted, but signs with NBA team and Chris Silva gets NBA opportunity

June 21, 2019

Bowen was signed by the Indiana Pacers after the conclusion of Thursday’s two-round, 60-pick NBA Draft. Former Gamecocks Chris Silva also went undrafted.

Chris Silva will get his NBA shot. The former South Carolina great wasn’t selected during Thursday’s two-round NBA Draft, but will participate with the Miami Heat in the NBA Summer League. IPZ, Silva’s agency, confirmed the news to The State on Friday morning.

Summer League teams annually try out different rosters than their regular season squads, a mix of rookies and second-year players attempting to land an NBA or G League deal.

I wish those guys the best of luck.  I think Silva has a shot that can really be developed especially his mid-range jumper that could make him an effective player.  Maybe they won't call a foul on him every time he is near the ball in the NBA

Silva in the NBA will be like Renaldo Balkman, IMO.

He'll have a short NBA career as a bench player, but will probably play mostly overseas.
